A STORY BEHIND THIS PRODUCT

The first-generation Dr. Grip was created in order to reduce the stress on the shoulder and arm when writing.

The main target population for the original product was office workers as they had to use a pen all the time, often with high writing pressures. As the product was so popular, PILOT launched the Dr. Grip brand and created various products that had slightly different features based on their target population.

Some of the features in the past include ‘FuleFule’ or shake to pull the pencil lead type, a portable type, an anti-biotic type, etc.

Since 1995, the brand started selling a Gel-ink pen series and increased colour variations which attracted younger generation.

The Dr. Grip series keeps working on creating new products from the perspective of human engineering.

Dr. Grip has been evolving for 25 years.

This product has been developed since 1991 the concept of this stationery was ‘to reduce body fatigue such as stiff shoulders and numbness of hands and arms’. It’s has been ergonomically designed. The grip texture, barrel diameter, balanced body weight, and low viscosity ink refill ensures a smoothness of writing that will help reduce work fatigue. The innovative grip consists of 2 layers of silicone rubber. The outer layer is harder than the inner layer, giving the grip a moderate softness while still allowing for a stable and durable pencil grip.
You can shake this product instead of clicking. This function was developed based on the users’ feedback that it was uncomfortable to click during writing.

Just shake it to make the lead come out.
